I have never ridden RRT. I was thinking about ridding it tomorrow around 2:00, yea that's right in the heat of the day and it's going to be HOT. After reading the reviews I'm not so sure it's a good idea. I mostly ride WWC and I'm not afraid of Goat Hill or Carpet but some people talk like this is the trail to hell. So are the hills that bad or is it just time to man up?

You got it. Don't listen to the hype. There are two big (steep but short) climbs, gorge climb and no name climb. It is probably my second favorite trail to byt and I only like byt better because it has more jumps and things. Have fun out there.

There is the trail with the most recent additions.

Did it today. Just take your time and walk some if you have to. I had a blast just really humid this morning!

Just had a brief shower come through wet the leaves and paved roads will make it appear that there was more to it. Did not get through the canopy. Just add to the humidity. Grin

Glad I waited out the brief shower this morning.
A few slick turns but no mud & the trail was in pretty good shape Tongue

No I decided to ride Lake Norman. I was having a good ride until about mile 18 and I broke my seat. It's not a lot of fun standing up and ridding 5 miles back to the truck.
O'well I got a new seat today from Bike Source so I'm ready to roll again. Smiley

Big Chuck, a couple of the hills are really steep, but they're short. Pushing a couple of hundred yards (if necessary) on a 12 mile trail is not such a big deal. Plus all but a couple sections that go through a field are under a very heavy leaf canopy, so you're in solid shade. It would be a shame to miss out on the whole trail for fear of the climbs. It's really unique.

Most of the trail is between Rocky River on one side (downhill side, obviously) and a field on the other side (uphill). So if you're ready to leave, just go uphill to the field and ride on out.  So go ride; you'll be glad you went.

Cherokee hit it spot on, BigChuck.  This trail is AWESOME!!  A couple climbs are pretty darn tough, but they aren't too long and give you a goal to work towards.  This trail is just AWESOME!!  Steve puts in a ton of work on this trail and it keeps growing and getting better.  Check it out, you will leave this trail smiling and looking forward to the next time you ride it.

Took both bypasses this AM and the dirt was perfect.  Moved a couple downed branches here and there, there's a few larger ones left, one on the western rocky section.

What is the outlook for tomorrow morning?  It is dry up here in Mooresville and was hoping to head over early Sunday morning. Doubt SP will open in the am.  Thx!

It was good today. No need to hit the bypasses either.

Thanks Steve. Love the new stuff.

808golden, there has not been any rain here overnight so should be fine to make the drive down.

Steve,
Great trail, thank you! Well worth the $3.00 donation. Thanks also to my guides, first time there. I will be back.
