Are there any trails in the Boone-Blowing Rock vicinity that are suitable for mid-level riders?

I have reason to believe that the squirrels are mocking me.

I heard there were some 'cross country' trails used by the Lees McRae guys that are not really cross-country at all. Anyone know about these? Open to the public?

I believe they are open to use by anyone, I ride them......

They get pretty technical, but are a blast.  The top half of the loop is pretty tame, the bottom half is very rocky.
