RRT: Green Loop

I decided last week that it would be a good idea to put together a loop that would reflect some of RRT without the major climbs. This I hope will encourage newer riders or those that have heard some terror tales about RRT to give it a try. I think in the past a newer rider felt that once they started it was kind of an all or nothing venture.

There is now a marked Green Loop that is about 4.4 miles. Its mostly a loop using existing trail with the intention of giving a true mountain biking experience. While not being overwhelming as it has been in the past for someone newer to the sport. Also a good alternative for those that have completed a lap and want a little more.

Start at the entrance to the right of kiosk follow regular markings. Look for green loop  marked turns which are on the left. There are four of these. One just past the old trailer, before Valley Bridge, at “Ball Fields”, relatively short climb, then you have a choice: Right takes you to top of Stairway to Heaven Climb 0.1 mile while left is the Green Loop and half mile to parking area. Hope you have a good ride.

Remember that there are two water sources on the kiosk side of the greenhouses follow the mowed path in that direction.

Thank you for this (and all your other hard work).  It will make it easier to bring the wife out to this excellent trail.

Wow...your generosity is seemingly limitless.  I was there Fri after having not ridden there since May, i think.  Trail was in excellent shape...if only i were! It took me 1hr 40 min but I had to walk a short section of No Name, River Bluff & STH which is par usual for me but, as always, I had an awesome time.  The trail kicks my arse but I love it & am very appreciative that you have provided us with yet another killer trail.

Can't wait for fall temps...will ride there more often.
I bet night riding there is nothing short of epic!

Wow - great idea!  I think this will help bring in the riders.  RRT can be very intimidating to the newbies and even intermediate riders.  Doing this will give folks a great way to ease into the difficult sections.  And for those of us that can handle the 12+ miles of advanced elevation change and want a little more, this is a great option for additional "easy" mileage!

Hats off, truly appreciate it!

Cheers!  Smiley

What that guy said...

I noticed a few new bridges and cut throughs this weekend.  I wasn't sure if you were building access points or making the trail work in reverse.

Can't wait to see what is next.

Sorry but in order to avoid any of the bigger climbs plunge was not in the picture.
It and many other loops can be added with your choice of climbs out. Smiley

There is only 300' of climbing from the plunge back to the car.  You can do it.  Roll Eyes
