I went up to Brevard to ride some sick trails and did a bit of hiking and riding.

Headed up to Friday night after work and got an early start on Saturday. Rode from Turkey Pen and did Laurel/Pilot/Squirrel/Mullenax.

36.1mi 5:07:17 moving time with 6,043ft elevation gain.

From the top of Pilot

After the ride we hit up Jordan Street to replenish and get our necessary post ride man soda's

Sunday's activities included a 4.5 mile hike up Pilot Mountain (Deep Gap) from Gloucester gap. About 1,830 feet of climbing. Took the pups on this one with us and a couple frosty beverages for the top.

Monday brought some more riding. I was pretty beat from the other two days so we did a slow ride and quick ride. Clawhammer to Avery Creek. Took the hard tail on this for some reason. It defiantly add's a new element to that trail.

10.3mi 1:30:29 moving 1,850 elevation gain

Remember there is no roller blading on Black MTN trail.

It was a great weekend with some awesome weather. Climbed just shy of 10k feet (9,720) in 3 days. What did everyone else get into?!

I've had 2 ACL replaced, you can continue to ride until you have your surgery, and it will actualy benefit your recovery.

You can tell it's getting towards the end of the season with all the injuries floating about. I know the pain of some broken ribs, but luckily have not had any knee issues.

I'm just trying to get as much riding in till the leaves fall and everything is slick and crap and hidden.

Thanks for the info!  My only problem is that I have a triple whammy.... Torn ACL, lateral meniscus tear... slapped with a chip of bone at the ankle... can't remember what they call it... but, doc said something akin to the fact that there was no tear at the ankle but in essence instead of tearing tissue, the tissue ripped a piece of bone off the ankle.  So, I don't know how that plays out... even from a surgical perspective.  I would imagine they wouldn't start surgery until after the Ankle heals so I can start PT??

Either case, it sounds promising especially to know that you ride like a beast still after two acl replacements!  That to me is the most welcoming news!  That said, I understand that the proper time needs to be put into PT and getting stronger/rebuilding movement.. and in my case, losing some much needed weight!

Well I went full redneck in the backwoods of Virginia not too far from Austinville near the New River.

Guns were a blazin', shirts were non existent (or with sleeves cut off) and the bikes were mainly motorized.  I did go out for a bit of a pedal and managed to climb about 1200' over a 12 mile ride on ATV and Dirt bike trails.  It was really loose dirt conditions and at one point I lost all control on an extended steep and loose atv trail in the rain.  It was all I could do to talk myself out of a catastrophic crash  Shocked.

With the amount of ammo fired and tannerite that was detonated I'm surprised we are all still living.

Thank you Labor Day  Wink

I got dropped by my 13 year old daughter on OVT.
13 vs 50.
I loose.
But I loved every second of the ride.

Blew the rear tire at BYT. Pushed the bike back 2.5 miles then drank copious amounts of beer to make up for it.

TransAm crew!

I picked up my new road bike on Friday. Watched college football all day Saturday. Took my new roadie for a ride at LNSP Sunday morning. Worked on Monday.

So nothing spectacular

I went up to Raleigh and rode with some buddies.  We sampled a bit from all the best Triangle area trails.  It was a great time including the ride to the bar and back!  Sunday we spent the day at DDASC (Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex).  That was an awesome time.  I had never ridden skate park features before but I had a blast on the outdoor  pump track, rhythm sections and a few jumps into the foam pit.  I will definitely be making trips on foul weather days and during the winter.  There are plenty of features accessible for beginners and the facility allows for fast progression.

Camped at mt pisgah.  Slid down slick rock, lost my glasses.  Rode some at bent creek: small creek, deer tree, pine, explorer.

Friday, I rode the work bike to correct the sign # on the maps on the new trails at LNSP, then worked on Laurel.
Saturday, I cut and cleared some trees and drains on Fox and Wildlife.
Continued clearing drains on Laurel. Met David at 4pm and we rode the old stuff.
Sunday, I rode Wildlife, Fallstown and Fox. Worked on drains on Laurel.
Monday, met David again and we rode part of Laurel, all of Wildlife, Fallstown and Fox.
I cut a few more dead leaning trees on Laurel.
Tuesday, I rode all of Laurel as a recon ride checking for areas that need some attention. Went to the Tuesday social ride at SWDP early, and cleared 5 trees, some drains and raked some leaves. I even had enough energy to ride with the group.
Now that's what I call a great weekend.
I forgot, I got up at 5am and drove to Snowshoe this morning.

Rode Riverwalk Friday evening for the first time. Pretty nice trail... Wouldn't mind a few berms and jumps.

Rode Beatty (aka my home trail since I live 10 minutes away) Saturday morning. Then tinkered with the bike in the garage for a bit. I think I enjoy working on/maintaining my bike just as much if not more than riding it.

Any other gearheads out there that find it therapeutic to turn wrenches on their bikes while drinking cold grown-up beverages?
