Opinions please (about a bike purchase)

I posted this on FB, but I'd like your opinion. I have 3 options for my next bike (trying to rebuild the SS i snapped at BYT last week)

Option 1: Gary Fischer Superfly Carbon (2009) with fox fork ($XXX) (THTB forum member)

Option 2: Raleigh XXIX Steel (2012) belt drive with a niner carbon fork ($XXX) (THTB forum Member)

Option 3: Salsa El Mariachi 2 Steel (2012) Fox fork ($XXX +150) (Non THTB member)

the drivetrain, wheels and cockpits are all comparable. I know the carbon is going to be the lightest, but it is only .75lbs less than the Raleigh, and 1.5 lbs less than the Salsa. Is a 2012 Salsa worth that much more than the Raleigh, or is the carbon the way to go because its carbon (even if its old?)

I am really just looking at the frame even, the reason i am thinking about buying complete is that i have another frame here that i am going to turn into a greenway bike for the wifey, and could use the parts.

The idea of the belt drive kind of excites me as well.

The idea of 5 year old GF carbon scares me

Thoughts?

The Raleigh = XXIX only because I am partial to the Raleigh too, also riding Rigid XXIX - With Chain drive . Its Solid

I liked seeing this Redline pop up but personally don't want to getting into a swap - but comes with a springy fork.

I really like that Superfly.  I would have bought it if I hadn't already started buying up parts for my bike build.  Its almost exactly what I was looking for in a hardtail XC bike.  But.... only you can decide what "you" want for sure.  Good luck.

Salsa, but where are the other two bikes?  Don't see them for sale anywhere?

my el mariachi has served me well. several years old carbon would make me nervous too.  just so many improvements lately.  belt drive seems like a fad that never took off to me.

I wish I had my El Mariachi still.  Don't know much about the Alternator style dropouts (mine had the black cat rip offs) but they may be a nice touch.
