Anne Springs Bowl?

Rode Anne Springs for the first time today.  Started at the north and headed down the Prairie, as soon as I got into the woods I found this Breck style "bowl".  After a couple different lines down I saw the no trespassing sign on the back of one of the larger trees.  Considering the use this thing gets I know people use it, but is it kosher that I do?

I thinks you are referring to the gravity cavity.   I don't know why there would be no trespassing signs. It's part of the mtb trails. I played on it a couple of weeks ago.

At the bottom at the "cavity", before the small drop to the river.  If you look back about 20ft up a tree there is a sign that says no trespassing.

I wouldn't worry.  That sign could be ages old and technically the trail has a fee so if you on it unauthorized you may be trespassing.   Who knows.

I think those signs are there more to keep inexperienced riders off.

It's on the tree.  Obviously they want you to not trespass on the tree.  Duh!  Smiley

sign has been there for years.  let me know if you ever see ASCG staff out on the property telling you to stay off.  i don't think such people exist.

There were several signs there years ago, the signs were put up to stop people from riding the GC. The drop in on the South side had/has a nasty kicker that didn't end well for many. At that time there was a rash of riders having to be carried out do to broken parts (like arms and legs) and the occasional endo that knocked more than one rider out cold.

I spoke to the trail coordinator there many years ago, before the sign was put up, about folks that were putting logs and debris to block the GC.  I turns out it was the greenway staff trying to keep riders off of that section.  He said they had instead decided to put up the no trespassing sign in order to mitigate liability.  If you read between the lines, it really says "ride at your own risk".

I used to ride; now I just drink and cry about not riding.

Aaron, that was quite a few years ago, my wife had two friends on the EMT crew who would update her every time someone got hurt there. I think most of it was that my youngest son and I ride there a lot and they were curious to see if we knew the injured person.
