Figured I'd throw this in before we go any further seeing as this thread has gotten completely out of hand...

2 pages with no real answers as to who cut the trees or whether it was authorized is "out of hand" while 6 full pages of parking lot closure discussions is OK?  Guess you should go put some some rabbit and flapjack pictures over there?? Smiley

Must be giving them (flapjacks) away at the CYCLE PATH.  Not sure what this has to do with cutting trees at Signal Hill but I thought I would join in rather than fight.  Maybe everyone is suffering from PTSD by not riding at Lake Norman.....now where did I put my qualudes.........

That's because the parking lot is still open at Signal Hill. And if it's full ,you still have many places to park that are nearby Smiley

How do you hit your knuckles on the pump track?

Hitting knuckles on the trees that were taken out would have been an accomplishment unless you had 800mm bars Smiley

Kinda curious as to why someone can cut a root at Fisher Farm and the world ends while there can be wholesale destruction of trees as Signal Hill and it goes unnoticed.

For those who insist on dumbing down every trail in the area, please take a minute that you wasted cutting trees and check out this link: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I spent 13 years building trail at Lake Norman and love that place but not every trail needs to be that style, variety is good.  If you want a nice easy flowing trail, go to LNSP and leave Signal Hill alone.

</rant>

Rode the whole state park today, some of it twice, and can confirm that it is indeed nice easy flowing trail with 0 chances to catch handlebars.

Whew, thought we were going to have to schedule an LNSP tree slaughter, sounds like we are safe Smiley
