FORT MILL, S.C. -- A mountain biker died Tuesday night on a trail in Baxter Village, according to the York County Corner's Office.

Trevor Ford, 59, was riding his bike on the trails when he crashed.

He died at the scene from the injuries he sustained, according to York County Corner's Office.

This is so sad. I had my heart attack trying to beat him in a short track race. He was a good guy and a tough competitor. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

A close friend of his Family called me early this morning with the sad news. 
He was such a good guy and a fellow Brit. Raced against him several times,
so competitive. Heart goes out to his wife Beth and two Boys.

Anyone know any details yet.....tree, rocks, gully, berm, drop etc??  I have never heard of the BAXTER VILLAGE trail.

There is a trail in the village of Baxter, the local news reported he was going down a steep part of the trail when his front tire went into a gully and he went over the handlebars. 
I've known Trevor for a while, after a severe crash I had a few years ago I hobbled into Tail Wind Cycles to get some parts, Trevor was there, he gave me some words of encouragement and motivation to get back on my bike. 
He will be missed.
