Awesome think I may sign up for this one.  Do people just usually switch shoes at the start and finish of the mtb leg?  So do I need to bring two pairs?

Cool just trying to decide if it's worth taking the extra time to change the shoes or just wear my "flexible" mtb shoes.

The Mnt Bike segment is only 30% of the race, comfortable shoes or the main
requirement. Some wear running Shoes and use Cages instead of cleats on
the Bike. But if you can run in the flex Bike Shoe, go for it. Decisions, decisions!! Undecided

I have never had any luck running in MTB shoes.  I think my mind would be if I should just use cages and trail running shoes or change shoes twice.  The twice thing might be the deciding point.  T1 and T2 should be about 30 sec. apiece for a shoe change.  The question is can you go 60 sec faster on the bike with a pair of mountain bike shoes of the 15K ride?

I did it last year and ended up in 7th I think.  I changed shoes for sure.  I think you get added benefit of having mtn bike shoes.   Trail running in MTN bike shoes would be awful.  I don't tie my running shoes that tight so I can slip them on and off fast.

Really fun race.

I agree, changing shoes is super important. I couldn't imagine running the trails with mountain bike shoes.

Don't forget.....

For any of you multi-sport folks who like to play in the dirt, the trails at Fisher are in great shape for the Turn and Burn Off-Road Duathlon on Sunday.  I rode the trails late this afternoon, while we were marking the course.  There were only a couple small muddy spots but 99% of the trails were in absolutely great shape.   The ground soaked up most of the moisture and it seems like the wind is taking care of the rest.  Mark and the crew have done an incredible job of building trails that shed water.

Race is ON, unless you're scared!!

Day of Reg opens at 7:30AM
Race Time:  9:00AM
