The RDU airport has been exploring additional revenue streams. To that end they commissioned a study by the Urban Land Institute. That study made the recommendation to develop the land that the Lake Crabtree County Park mountain bike trails are on, as well as a lot of additional greenspace to the north of I-40 (if you've ridden there you know how awesome this area is).
