We're planning a big weekend of trail work at the Backyard Trails and we need your help! We're doing improvements and additions to the trail system in preparation for The Backyard Experience coming up Nov 1st.

All you need to bring are boots and gloves. We'll supply the tools if you don't have anything.

We are working Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9am both days. Park at Marion Dhiel if you are driving, and meet at the Farmbrook trail entrance at 9am.

This is a great way to give back to the trail system we all use and love. It's also a great way to meet other local trail riders and get a good workout! Please invite your friends. If you don't know how to do trail work, don't worry! We'll teach you!

Yes what Dickey said is true workday sat and sun. We are going to start a reroute/addition. I will need a head count for each day to figure out what tools I need to bring. Please come out and lend a hand. I will ask if we can park at the back gate. It will be faster to go in at that point to work. We will be grubbing out small trees and cutting back corridor. Please bring water, gloves, long pants, long sleeve shirt. I will also need someone with a truck to help me during the week to pour concrete onto the second poo rail to stop tire slippage. My Honda and left knee could use the help hauling water and bags of cement. I will get the ok to drive in for this. Sorry for not posting sooner. Got busy and up in the mountains for the dreamline thing. Hopefully the rain will hold off. Saw the course today wkdjf those are big jumps.

I'll be there if I don't get called into work!

Edit:  I live down the block.  If I'm around and can help out, I have an SUV I can drive in there for the cement and/or a small utility trailer (I'm purchasing this week hopefully).

I will come by Saturday if I don't end up going to Beech Mtn. It'd be nice to meet some new people. I'm a new Charlotte resident formerly from Nashville. We had a similar trail there that evolved into some pretty big jumps over 5 years. I have a truck and shovels, chainsaws, loppers, all sorts of tools. Look forward to meeting you.

Thanks for your interest in helping out. Lee and I went out and cut back all the fields across the service road and the gravel road under the power lines and the large tree after the poo tracks. We also started a re route to add a little more flow (I think that's what the kids call it) very fast cross country. This will probably take many hands to make this light work. If you plan on coming out please post up or pm me for a head count. Thanks again Lee that was the last time that has to be done for several years (greenway).

Unfortunately won't be able to make it out this weekend, heading out of town. Did notice that a large tree fell last week sometime. Rode on Friday evening and the one solo berm on the lower half (that had tree clippings on the bottom side of it) was completely covered by a very large tree that fell during the week. Also crosses the trail as you loop back around very shortly after.

Some of the work has been done. We need some extra hands to keep on going. We will be clearing corridor on sat and weedeating and blowing the new reroute off on sun some holes will have to be filled. Two bridges will have to be added later Im not sure if we will have enough people to finish this project it's a long long reroute. Again bring water, snack, long pants, gloves and a strong back. If you would like to come out and learn how this kind of work gets done this is a perfect time to learn. We will show you the tools of the trade and how to use them. Blind crippled or crazy and Rocky we will take your help. Please park at the MD parking lot and not at the FB enterance. I will have the tools over by the back gate. Just frogger across Tyvola and you will see my car. I hope that I will see some new faces and the regular old dirtbags. Please post up or pm me for a head count. I hope to see some people around 9. Thanks!!

Thanks for the help today. Now finish work time. Please park at MD and walk over to the back gate. See you around 9. I need some one to run a weedeater and a blower. Thanks again to those of you who took the day to come out and lend a hand. See you in the morning. Bring water, gloves, and please wear long pants. We will be grubbing out cut off bushes and finish work.

Thank you all for coming out over the last 2 days to put in some new trail and to all of you who have done such a nice job on the jump line. New trail will open soon after new bridges and it settles for a couple of days. Thanks to Mark S for getting all the tools that we need to make life eaiser for all of us. Many hands made that trail and it should be very fast once it wears in. Thanks again for all your help. A little more to add through the winter. Did anyone notice the posion ivy dying off.

+1 for poison ivy dying off and cooler weather. New trail is going to be fast once packed in. Can't wait for Nicholas to ride the first trail he helped create.

Sorry I didn't make it out. Ended up going to Beech, which was freezing cold. I'm down for some trail work to help out anytime.
