Is this worth going to on Saturday?  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) at the Merchandise Mart.  I am looking for MTB stuff (tires, maybe rims), helmet and bike apparel, maybe a nice helmet light, not sure if it is worth traveling down to.  Anyone that has gone in the past is it worth it?

According to the link the event is only open for 3 hrs...9am-12pm.  That's not very long considering they want $45 for an individual booth. I was contemplating participating but 3 hrs is not worth it to me.

I’ve gone in previous years. As a buyer; never as a vendor. I find that it’s hit or miss. Some years I have gone and found stuff, other years I have gone all the way up there (used to be at Lowe’s motor speed way which is a good ways from where I live) and found nothing at all. But it previous years it was a really big deal and there was tons of stuff there. Last time I went it seemed it was kind of losing steam. It seemed smaller and there seemed to be less people there. I didn’t go last year because I have lost interest in it but my husband went. I will not go this year. I have something else planned but wouldn’t be going anyway just because I don’t really need anything and don’t have any interest in going. If you have never been I would probably recommend going if you aren’t busy; I wouldn’t reschedule my life to get there. But maybe it has gotten better since I was there last also and maybe the new location is good. I have never been at that location.

I've been there the past two years as a buyer not a vender.  I picked up a road bike last year and a mountain bike for my sister the year before.  There weren't many options but both times I found a bike in my price range, size and need.  So as CatsRuleTN mentioned its hit or miss depending on what you're looking for.

You have to go with the understanding its a large "garage sale" of bike stuff. Just like a regular garage sale, you never know what you might find, but you have to go look to find a good deal.

For those that like to swap out gear all the time, I'd say its worth checking out.
Or if you're looking for a deal on a random bike its worth a look.

I Remember going back when it  was at Lowes Motor Speedway - Circa 2011??

Picked up a few things - I remember more roadie items than mountain items.  few teams were liquidating old bikes and frames.

I got a few pairs of gloves at 50% off type buys and they sucked- wasn't sad or offended throwing them away -  Overstock shoes were available - turned to a good buy.

After that one - i forgot this existed- wish there was more info about it - that info site is bleh - now on the other side of town  = i'm not making a special trip there.

Mabye after this - interest will be renewed need a full report of events if someone goes!

I ended up going this year.  We were looking for some parts for a friend and had no luck.

It may have been due to the large area they were in, but it did seem like an even smaller showing than last year.  A lot of road bike stuff and random boxes of components. It seems like several shops set up tables and bring some random items to have a showing, but don't offer much worth looking through.

There were three of us and the general consensus of our group was that its a fine place to look for a beginner bike but not much of anything else mountain bike related.  There were a lot of road bikes, both new and used.  Ultimate had a few new mountain bikes on display.

Considering its supposed to be a bike swap, I would like to see more options with people actually putting up used bikes to sell or trade.  I feel like the promoters of the Stampede are pricing everyone out of showing up.  I don't know what it cost for an individual to bring a single bike in, but just to walk through and see what's there cost $5 per person.

Just my two cents, but unless I'm trying to find a beginner bike for someone, or looking for United Health Care team clothing I probably won't go back any time soon.
