Details on home page. Most likely I'll be out there every Saturday the rest of the month unless we have a conflict with a workday at Fisher Farm where I'm borrowing tools from.

I can hopefully make it this Saturday for my first trail work session.
It is fairly local to me so happy to help.

Luv to have the help if you can make it folks.

Andy, if you can make it the trail is located in a little clearing in the woods in right field on the baseball field longest distance from school buildings. I usually have a yellow sign or a yellow tool at the entrance, and if the field isn't muddy you'll see my white Nissan Frontier parked right at the entrance in the woods. If we're already in the woods just start walking on the trail in either direction and you'll see where the temporary creek crossing trail is. Not hard to find us since it's just a mile long.

We had a good group working today. Perfect trail work weather other than we couldn't bench due to the ground being frozen. We did get a lot of grubbing done though.

It was nice to meet Andy and his son, Kurt (spelling?...20 degree temps froze my sign up pen) and his son, and good to see Larry and Greg again and meet Larry's son. Both younger kids had their bikes, and I saw some good skills and future trail builders. Andy and Kurt who were first timers were grubbing like seasoned Tarheel Trailblazers Cool

Thanks to my good friend Big Bike Mike who had his chainsaw in the truck. I think Mike got just about all the chainsaw work other than possibly a bit after crossing the creek on the second bridge, which I haven't flagged out yet. Gonna miss you when you move to Snowshoe area Cry

Also thanks to Cyclepath who came out before the holidays and critiqued two re-routes I flagged where I got into some fall line. Being too tired and designing trail don't mix. Future thanks for the two bridges he's going to help me build since that's not my thing.

It's only a mile or so, but trying to make it the best mile we can, and do look forward to the future greenway that will connect to this trail.

It's always a pleasure to help you, Ed! It was nice to meet you, Andy and Lorcan and welcome to Cornelius. I think the trail is going to be a fun addition to our trail system.

Weather forecasts changed for this morning to almost no chance of rain, although radar didn't look good, took a chance and loaded tools up....starting raining when I hit the parking lot Cry

Back at it next Saturday.

Weather forecast looks good for this Saturday. Lots of grubbing, benching, and raking if anyone wants a good workout off the bike. This may be the hardest mile of trail I've ever built it's so thick out there. I day dream of rake and ride land while working out there Smiley

We had a good crew working today, with 4 new faces with strong backs, and we finished the grubbing on the second loop. Now tons of raking and benching next Saturday if the weather works out.

Thanks to everyone that came out today.
