Shearing the shaft member after a hard ride is acceptable in my book.

A little damp, but good to go.

It is in good shape, but the climb out of the creek on Laurel is real slick! I worked on that section of trail this afternoon and one rider on a fatty tire bike didn't even make the creek climb.

We rode Laurel and Wildlife today (1-17-15) and it was definitely on the wet side.  If your looking to break Strava records, it probably is not the best conditions for that.  A few areas were pretty slick but definitely rideable and nice to actually be able to get out on the trails.  Looking forward to the next few days of high 40's to mid 50's and some sun.  Should do all the trails in the area some good.

There were two trees down on the Fallstown loop.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be there today and will take care of those trees. I hope this little bit of rain won't close the trail, I want to ride later.

Just checked outside (near Wildlife Rd) and the street and sidewalks are wet.  Not sure how much fell...

Didn't I see 0% chance of rain in the forecast?   Undecided

Just my luck.  I held off riding yesterday because today was supposed to be so ideal.  I'm gonna have to rethink this "needs of my children coming before my own". Some jogger probably thought that one up.

USGS says .04" of rain in at Langtree (mooresville) and 0" of rain in Statesville over the last 12 hrs.  I'd say Lake Norman should be Hero Dirt!  #letthepeoplerideherodirt

Just called the LNSP number and the message indicates trails remain closed as of noon. Sad

I'm sorry folks, it's my fault the trails were closed and didn't open back up. I went early to get the trees on Fallstown, the trails were open and they were closed when I came back to the truck. I worked on Laurel the rest of the day. The trails were drying good because the wind and temp. The reason they didn't open is because I took my bike. I ended up working all day, so all is good.

BBMike- Could you please go to LKN without your bike today? I'd like it to open.

Your opinion differs from that of the park staff. They told me they won't be opened today because they are wet and sloppy Wink

You know what they say about opinions? I had to work today, so my bike was in my closet. The rain overnight didn't do any good for the trails for sure. I was sure the wind and temps would have dried out the trails. The trails were open Saturday, but I don't like to ride on soft trails because I'm the one that has to repair the damage. Plus, I don't like spending money to fix my bike from the mud damage.

Unbelievably it is closed today.  I usually support LNSP Ranger decisions but this one has me stumped.  Only .04 rain in last week and still not open?  Maybe its worse than I think....
