	Does anyone ride Steel HTs? Do you like them? What Bike? What Wheel Size? Any pictures? I am in the market for a new bike and Steel Hardtails seem to peek my interest the most.

	Ive had: Orange P7 -26" Ragley blue pig- 26" On-one 456- 26" Vassago jabberwocky- 29" All amazing bikes. Super fun. . I have a carbon hardtail (456 27.5) right now that i am selling for the price of steel!

	We sale a lot of the Salsa El Mariachis and customers love them. I really enjoyed mine but ride my steel Mountain Goats so the El Mariachi went bye bye but I would buy another in a heart beat..

	I have two El Mariachi's. One SS, building the other geared. Best riding bike I've ever had. Tearing down an aluminum frame HT to build the geared steel bike. I had several Zion 29ers. They were great riding bikes too, just had a weak spot behind the head tube

That on-one carbon is probably the most responsive, stiff bike i have ever owned. It trumps the steel in its ability to absolutely rail corners and trail in general. But it will absolutely beat you up if you arent going as fast as you can pedal. I love my steel's for their ability to connect to the trail regardless of how I am trying to ride.

	I've had: Soma B side 650b set up single speed and rigid...Pretty cool bike for XC Surly 1x1 650b...More fun than the Soma and in my opinion more of a supple ride... Transition Trans Am 29...This was the bike that sold me on hardtails again....Dialed geometry...Very stable.... NS Bikes Eccentric 650b (current ride)....I think Steel bikes shine in the long travel slack angled category...This bike Absolutely rips! I have it paired with a 160 fork and it is a super fun bike.......

	Also take a look at the Canfield nimble 9, not the cheapest frame but it looks like a sweet ride.

	I have ridden my TransAm everywhere from Sherman to Farlow Gap... The latter I do not recommend. It seems most at home on DuPont style trails especially RidgeLine and Big Rock. Great bike and it handles like a dream. I have never ridden AL or Carbon HT's so I cannot comment on the ride quality compared to them. It is solid though with a 142x12 rear and 15mm up front. I have run both 120 and 140mm travel lengths and actually like the 140 the best. (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links) *FYI no roller blading on black

	Man I'm drooling at all these sweet rides MTBman1127 do you know your Trans am Chainstay length and wheelbase? Just wanted to know how it compares to the 2015 model. The '15 has a 418mm CS!

The Nimble is pretty rad too but heavy as hell and not much more compliant than the Yelli. If your wanting the steel HT to flex and have better chatter absorbing characteristics I would shy away from the Nimble. Just my experience. I havent found a trail that the Yelli couldnt tackle. 	Any reason for steel vs aluminum or carbon? Steel is awesome, I have had a Haro Mary and a El Mariachi. Both good bikes. I am riding an On One Scandal right now and it is also very good (and lighter). I wouldn't sweat the frame material as much as the overall package. Good wheels and the ability to run tubeless matter more to me. Curious to see what you end up with though - good luck!

	I have the old version of the Sir9 and love it. Set up single speed 34/20 with a 100 Reba up front. The steering is quick power transfer is instantaneous & rolls over everything around here. lots of fun to ride. I'm 5'11" and ride the medium. I can also say I have spent some time on a Ros9 and like it a lot as well, it steers slower because of the slacker head angle. So fast steering go Sir9 slower steering go Ros9. Both are great rides!

	Uncle thunder I have a parkwood as well. With a decently high volume tire I think its a pretty compliant frame for aluminum and quite a bit lighter then similar steel frames. I think you'll enjoy it.

	I'm running a 60mm stem and the bars started as 785 but I've since cut them down to about 750mm. What fork are you going with?

	i've found a great deal on a Fox 32 Float at 140mm Full Kash coat. Probably going to run a 50mm stem and 760mm bars. just curious what you were running

	Yeah I'm running a revelation set at 140. The front end can start wondering on some steep climbs but overall its a blast with the 140 up front.

	thanks for the insight man! there is a Marzocchi 44 TSA Switch 29er on pricepoint for $399.99 that switched from 140mm down to 110mm for climbs. That seems nice but i dont know much about Marzocchi

THe Niner Rigid fork is the perfect combo for this bike. Little short on travel, but it climbs and corners like no tomorrow.
