If you have never ridden a dropper, then you should add a disclaimer to your post...

I've ridden a dropper post for around a year.  Body position on a bike is incredibly important...especially when you are cornering.  Simply put, a dropper post allows you get into position because the seat is not in the way.  It adds a whole new fun factor when railing through corners.

I wish someone would make a simple and light post that could switch between up and down in 1 button push.

A dropper post on a DH bike might be the absolute dumbest thing you could ever have.

What if you're racing at Pietermaritzburg...

Here's a vid that talks about using the dropper on cross country trails.

Without any mtb knowledge/experience it was the very first thing I updated on my bike.  I think others have already also said it... but if we are to call it a clutch, we all should just go back to riding steel rigid bikes.  It's no coincidence that BMX/DH/DJ/4X/Freeride riders do not ride with massive seat posts.  Anyhow, I'm usually not a fan of these types of video's (clip v flats for example), but in this case... I'm definitely agree with a dropper for hard charging/agressive/steep technical riding/cornering/jumping/pumping that requires lots of body english/movement/adjustment.  Just my 2.5 years of riding experience so what do I know.

You ride a 6" bike with a dropper like a lot of the guys racing that course.
