Ok, I'm glad somebody brought up equestrians. So, I am over at Cane Creek yesterday doing pull ups. I'm not riding. And running a little later than normal. There are a couple of women sitting in the grass with horses grazing, and a 75 lb. male German Shepard running loose. There are also a bunch of teenagers and young kids playing in the soccer field nearby, and a couple of adults apparently of the same party unloading picnic supplies in the parking lot. My better judgment says to come back at a better time. But I need to get a few sets in. As I approach the pull up bar, the two women with the horses get up and gather all their stuff and start moving towards their horse trailer parked nearby. Of course, I'm eyeballin' the big shepard the whole time, but he seems cool. As they pass, the lead woman mumbles something asking whether I have a dog and keeps going. I say no. At that moment the teenagers are heading toward the vehicles with the picnic supplies to help carry them to the picnic area and I notice what looks like two small dogs, one of which is a puppy. They are both on a leash. The woman sees this and mumbles something about the German Shepard not liking other dogs. I'm thinking to myself, so why don't you have the dog on a leash? As I do my first set, the two women are loading their stuff into the horse trailer, oblivious to their German Shepard which is left alone nearby and is looking increasingly agitated looking in the direction of the other dogs. The German Shepard suddenly gets in a crouch position and starts moving quickly towards the other two dogs. I see this and start hollering at the dog and the women. They ignore me. The German Shepard gets to the puppy and starts biting the heck out of it. The puppy yelping the whole time. As I start moving in that direction, the owner finally notices and starts yelling at the dog which breaks off its attack and starts returning. The kids are screaming and the puppy is too. Well, the puppy seemed fine after he calmed down and the kids started walking on like nothing happened. So, do they walk over to check on the puppy or at least apologize to the people for what happened? Nope. Do they put the dog in the vehicle or at least put it on a leash. They just start mumbling something about their surprise at their dog attacking a puppy. I hate these stupid morons. They think their dog is a cup cake. The reality is they can't control their dog, which is obviously aggressive, and they are too stupid to put it on a leash or at the very least pay attention to what it is doing. In their deluded minds, it is there security blanket against people like you or me. In reality, it is only a danger to small defenseless things like smaller dogs, puppies and possibly even children. If you see these abominations of intelligent humanity anywhere, kindly be aware or report it to the authorities. If it attacks me, you wont have to bother.
