Wheel size question

Hey all. I think that this will work based on my calculations, but I wanted to see if anyone has tried it in the real world.. I am looking to purchase an on one 45650B. It is set up to run up to 27.5 x 2.4 tires and has 430 mm chain stays. What I want to do is ,use it for mixed use, hardtail with 27.5 wheels and tires and also use 29r wheels with 35mm cross tires to use as a greenway gravell bike.. Has anyone tried this? It should work based on chain stay length of cross bikes. Thanks

As long as the hub spacing is the same on the two wheel sets and your tires are clearing the frame, I dont see why it wouldnt work. There are people doing similar things with converting 26" to 27.5 using very low profile tires and whatnot.

Most builders design frames around a size wheel to ride a certain way, but if you can make it work and it rides the way you want, do it.

Post pictures when your done...

I have a carbon 456 (26er frame) that I've been running for three plus years as 650b with 2.35 tires and tons of clearance. I know some of the steel frames were lacking in clearance a few years ago, but you should be able to pull it off if the measurements work out. Really run bike and perfect for anything local...

Have you checked out the on one forum on mtbr? Or the 650b forum on there? Tons of info for oddball conversions...
