Fox vs Rockshox 29er

Just curious as to everyone's experience and 0.02¢

Just trying to do my homework for my 29er. Looking at 120mm front fork.

Any one have any suggestions? I read 32 Floats are "flexy" and RS are "stiff and lateral" I've only experience with an SR Suntour and a RS Reba.

I used to be a Fox guy all the way, but the RockShox Pike has been a game changer for me.  I have a Pike 140mm on my trail bike (Turner Sultan).  I just went from a RS SID 120 mm to a Pike 120mm on my XC bike (Turner Czar).

Both the SID and the Pike are plenty stiff at 120mm (better than a F32).  I prefer the Pike because I find it recovers much faster after an impact, and I feel more confident using the Pike (especially turning into a corner while still on the brakes).  (It is heavier, but even on my XC bike I will take the feel of a Pike over the SID)

If I were to compare anything Fox with the RS Pike it would the 34, not the 32. The Pike runs a 35 mm stanchion and will be stiffer that a fork with 32mm stanchions. That being said, I've always been a Fox guy. Just like the way the dampers are set up. The Pike is a pretty sweet fork but a little bird told me to keep an eye on Fox at Sea Otter this Spring!  Wink

That was an awesome detailed explanation! That helped!

So what are comparable forks  keeping the stanchions at 32mm?

You'd be looking at the fox 32 or the rockshox revelation. I've always been a rockshox fan. I've got the revelation rct3 on my parkwood, set at 140. Ready to ride I'm about 160lbs and I think the revelation is plenty stiff, set at 120mm it would only be stiffer.

You mean at Sea Otter this week?

I went from Fox 34 to Pike. May never go back to Fox.

OK, this helps. Alot. The RS Rev can have a remote attached for travel adjust right?

I'm also ~195-200lbs trying to loose weight.
