Coming soon! Turner Czar Build

I scored a crazy good deal on a brand new Turner Czar Frame.  I will be swapping over my parts from my spearfish.  Should make for a pretty light build.

Fork:  Fox terralogic
Wheels: Roval Carbons
Cranks: XO BB30
BB: Enduro PF30
Headset: Crane Creek 40
Bars: Niner carbon
Rear Derailleur: XT 10 speed
Cassette:  XT with 40 tooth conversion
Single ring upfront.

I would like to go with the Sram x1 group-set but the cassette price is still to much for something i replace almost twice a year.  Still thinking about it though.

The new SRAM GX group set will be coming out this summer, should be considerably cheaper then the x1 stuff.

Thanks I must have missed the GX announcement.  That cassette price is much more manageable.  I might go with an X-1 rear derailleur with GX cassette

You'll still need to make sure there's an XD driver for your rear hub to fit the Sram cassettes.

Although, people are mixing both Sram 11 speed and the new 11 speed Shimano XTR with good results from what I've seen on other forums.  XTR cassettes are still pricey, though.

Yeah I would need a XD hub/driver.  Not planning on mixing components.  Either full sram or full shimano

idk how many miles you are riding a year but I ride quite a bit and only replace my cassette once every year or year and a half at most sometimes longer. I usually change the chain out every 3-4 months and it makes the cassette last a ton longer. Makes the cassette pill easier to swallow.

I love my Czar. mine is built as follows;

- Large Black frame
- 120mm Pike (had a 120 SID on it, prefer the pike)(I also prefer the 51mm offset on this bike)
- Enve AM29 with King Hubs (Sapin CX spokes 32 count)
- XX1 drivetrain
- XTR brakes (7" front 6" rear)
- KS 125mm dropper with south paw lever (much better than stock)
- King BB and Headset
- S-works 740mm Carbon Flat bars
- Syntace XC stem (set as a 6 degree drop to offset the 20mm extra on the fork)

The bike handles like a dream, and I only ride my Sultan when I plan to make some questionable choices.

My XX1 group has 2000 miles on it, 2 chains (never had a chain get out off spec (park go/nogo tool)) and still the first cassette.  I might be getting to the end of my cassette, but the chains are cheap, so I will ride until shifting suffers and then swap both.

I'd be interested to see how both frames compare.  I have been looking at both frames.  What year is your spearfish?

It's a Small 2012 Spearfish 1.  Frame weights will be about the same so I'm not expecting it to drop. It was a really great bike.  Frame and fork will be for sale shortly.

Bike is finished.  I took it out for a spin at the WWC and man is that 120mm fork fun.  I had to do both slalom runs twice.  This bike is amazing.
