Unless you are a super-pro-bad-ass, a hardtail is not going to be nearly as much fun.... of course you might like picking your way down the trail at 2mph, then you'll be in heaven... or you could ride the beginner trail all day.

He is clearly calling you less fun for not having a full suspension bike.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

While he sometimes likes being insulting, I don't think that's what he's going for here. He's just trying to help you not waste a 2.5 hr drive each way to get there and not have fun. To go down the black runs at Beech at any reasonable speed on a hardtail, you have to be really good at riding. If you ONLY do the green and blue runs, you will get bored after an hour. I think it's worth thinking about renting or borrowing someone's bike.

I think if you ride down the black at speed on a HT you will just have a flat tires.

Yeah I gotcha. It was a hypothetical question really. I wasn't offended. I'm just a poor college student who tries to maximize what I have. I wouldn't go buy DH tires thinking I would rip on my HT. The obvious choice is a Full Suspension but ya know those $$ don't grow on trees  Cry
