Sherman is on the list twice...open and closed.  I'm guessing it's actually open. Does anyone know if they are planning to open Beatty later today?  If not,  see you at Sherman.  I'm sure it will be crowded.

Sherman was in great shape yesterday at about 6:30.  Only did the main trail, and didn't even finish it but it was still fun.  Not riding for 2 years is brutal, I want my legs back haha.

Sherman was nice today!  I couldn't believe how packed it was too.  People were pulling into the trailhead and had absolutely no place to park.  I got lucky and grabbed one of the last spaces; a few people arrived after me and I'm not sure what they ended up doing.

I know right! I got there around 4ish and it was like 60% full and when I came off the trail it was like ridiculous! People were parked in front of the exit and people parked in the grass off in the back!

There would be more parking if folks would realize they can park going down the powerline cut towards the back of the lot, instead of closing it off.

Just thought of this...  It needs:

No Parking between these signs  <--------------------------------------------> No parking between these signs

That way a path will be left for folks to go down the powerline.

Oh people did that. When I said "grass" that's what I meant. It wasn't a good description. You did a far better job than I did. Lol. People did leave an opening for people to park down by the power lines near the tree line

I parked in front of the exit/toilet area and almost got blocked in. I was careful to leave enough room for bikes to go around, and was grateful to find nobody took the exit too quickly to avoid my car. Trails were mostly in great shape..great ride out there yesterday!

Yep. I sat there for a while before riding waiting to see if a spot would open up further down, but people were coming in faster than others were leaving. It was the only place I could find that didn't block other people from leaving or the fire road (though others blocked that later so I guess it would have been okay). Thanks for not hitting the car, but it's a chance I was willing to take to get my ride in!  Cheesy

On another topic, anyone know what's going on with the road being cut through right where the roller coaster loop starts/ends? Hopefully we aren't losing Sherman to a housing development...

They are just maintaining the existing road that has always been there

The rain is done according to the weather radar.  I'm heading to RRT within the hour.

I went this AM. I live about 10 min away. Its been raining since about 9am. Not hard but steady. I would imagine decent soil and some slick roots.

Started raining in pineville again about 10 minutes after my last post,  and it followed me all the way here. Two other trucks are in the lot so I'm going to scope out the trail. If it's nasty then I'll suck it up and head back to my car and will update here.
