trail is wet but not muddy at all. Ground is hard and I have tons of traction. Feels okay to ride to me but if I'm committing a major party foul right now just chip in and I'll head home.

I did one lap.  Trucks from when I showed up were gone and two others had shown up since.

Trail is wet but not muddy.  Doesn't mean I didn't get dirty, thought.

If RRT didn't have the soil composition it does and excellent drainage today would've been a no-go by far, but the lack of clay and lots of tree cover helped a lot.

A couple of us were out walking at BYT this morning looking at another piece of property to put something brand new on and way different for another user group. Was raining steady and trail had puddles and a little mud and when we left it started to rain again. In a few places water was running down the trail but not as bad as I thought it would be. Where we were their was no posion ivy (hard to believe). Will go back out Monday afternoon to take a look. I wish we had better soil that drains as good as RRT. The fellas I was with dug around in a few places and most of it was
4 to 5 inches of good dirt then clay underneath. It will dry out soon and we will be begging for rain to keep the dust down.

BYT is awful for drainage due to the soil probably more than anything else.  I remember last summer or the summer before going out like three days after the last sight of rain and the trail was still slippery as hell.  Gave it about a half mile before I took the fire road back to Tyvola.

RRT truly is a gem.

I just looked at my rain gauge just a hair over 1/8" today. I know a few places that I need to put some ground bridges over and will have to whether it's ridden now or not. Funny how wet spots that I've bridged in the past are fine now only to have new ones appear elsewhere.

My call to leave it open today and hopefully tomorrow. I will say that if you're not a regular rider at RRT then stay home when it is wet and the other trails are closed. My feeling are if RRT's not good enough to ride when everything is dry don't come when the others are closed.   Smiley

Steve, so so so much thanks for all your work out there and sharing with the community!  I've not ridden much in the past year with the last 8 months being out due to injury and recently just getting back on the trail within the past few weeks.  Finally got the courage to go test out my new knee back at RRT and the trail was $$ late yesterday afternoon.  This trail is where it's at in the Charlotte area.  Anyone not having it in their regular rotation is missing out.  Thanks Steve for such an awesome trail.
