Just like last year, we're doing it again...

Bike to Breakfast BIKE! Charlotte Kick-off

Friday, May 1st 2015

Seize the opportunity to show support for cycling in Charlotte!  Ride and mingle with local elected officials and private leaders as we kickoff BIKE! Charlotte with the Bike to Breakfast. It’s a short ride, but one of the most important you could ever participate in if you support cycling in the Queen City! Free breakfast from Lola’s (provided by Charlotte Center City Partners) and coffee and juice courtesy of Charlotte B-cycle will follow the ride at the Government Center plaza on 4th Street.

Start Location: Dowd YMCA (400 E. Morehead St.) in the parking lot behind the YMCA

End Location: Government Center plaza (600 East 4th Street, Charlotte, NC)

Time:  Ride leaves Dowd YMCA at 7:45 AM, Breakfast and celebration begins 8am at Government Center

Who Participates: Open to Everyone

And just like last year and many years prior, our club (as in the Tarheel Trailblazers) will have own own "Ride to the Ride."  We'll meet well before the main ride, and roll out to the Dowd YMCA as one big, happy group on mountain bikes.  Make sure you wear your club jersey or t-shirt if you have one.  I will lead the ride there (approximately 1.3 miles), and also help get people back to our starting point after breakfast if needed.

We're meeting in the same location as last year, thanks again to Total Cyclist.

Time: 7:00 a.m. (rolling out at 7:15 a.m.)

Place:  Total Cyclist - Midtown, 601 South Kings Drive (meet in the parking lot up front)

Who:  You!

Type of bike:  Any, but fat tires are encouraged

Take the day off, tell your boss you're coming in late, keep the kids out of school for few hours, etc.  This is a very important ride to show the city how much cycling means to us, and rolling out to the ride as a club will also get us a little bit of exposure (which could mean more trails!)

Any questions? Post up here.

Thanks,

Chris
