More + size Tires

Since my Soulcrack frame was out for repairs I decided to do a experiment and try a 29+ tire on my Stumpjumper. Amazing how good this tire works on a rigid bike. Pretty fun to ride. Many thanks to Xchainer  at The Trek Store in North Lake for getting me this tire. It only weighs in @ 850 grams. Pretty good for a 3.0 tire.

Which rim is that on? I see the Velocity sticker so I'm guessing an older Blunt 35mm (or whichever size they were.

Would that tire fit with the Hugo you built up?

Yes, it is a  Blunt 35, and yes it would be fine on a Hugo.

madss and myself were testing the Hugo/Knard combo, we unfortunately killed the rim. It was a first generation Hugo rim. I sent a email with pics to Stans and they promptly sent me a new one with tape and valve stem that is a little more robust. (Weighs 125 grams heavier). I have yet to build it up. I would be willing to sell it @ a deal if anyone wants it.

I'm not sure I'm going to go that wide again. 35/45 seems to be plenty for a 3.0 tire. madss dropped off a 45mm Nextie carbon rim for me to build that weight 460 grams. Pretty cool looking rim.
