Aside from the WWC, where is a good 5-10 mile semi-difficult trail in South Charlotte?

How "south" Charlotte are you looking for, inner beltway our outer beltway?

Inner beltway: BYT +1  (Southpark area)
Outer beltway: Springs +1  (Fort Mill)

Not hate, just isn't as good as BYT, plus $5 to ride it seems excessive compared to other/better options in South Charlotte.

I'm not paying $5 to ride a greenway when there are better options available. The only time I've ever paid to ride a trail was at RRT ("Steve's Place") and that's because the man built a massive trail by himself on his private property and opened it up to us all (he can have my $3 and my gratitude).

The OP did ask for Medium difficulty though - can we call Renni "South" since the WWC was referenced?

BYT.  This shouldn't even be a debate!

I'm not saying asg is as good as byt.  I also wouldnt call byt south charlotte maybe that because I live way further south than byt. You could probably just name all the trails in charlotte and the op would be happy. the annual pass is comparable to wwc and they only collect on Saturdays so you can ride for cheap or free most days should you choose.

Ive road asg several times and have not been asked to pay.  There is an unsecured drop box by the baseball field but im not leaving any cash for some thieves to take.

ASG definitely is getting a bad rap. A few years ago, it might have been deserved as maintenance and upkeep were practically non-existent (except the once-a-year work-athon Neil coordinated prior to the Grind on the Greenway.

ASG now actually has people in paid-staff positions whose job is to look after the MTB trails there. They've fixed many trouble-spots, and have added new trail as well. They've also been very responsive and willing to work with the riding community, particularly as coordinated by Bobbi Kimsey as SHE mustered crew to help with a new bridge and a re-route. The new bridges that have been built are very well made, and will stand up to years of regular use.

Plus, the 9 mi +/- that it offers are bi-directional, so it's more like 18 +/-; about as long as Catawba (er ... WWC) before the addition of East Main.

Yes, it costs $5 to ride; or you can get unlimited annual use for $49. As much as I like Sherman & RRT, I save $49/year in gas not trekking over to that side of the city as often as I used to.

I've always thought that Anne Springs (I prefer all three loops clockwise) is the most fun trail in Charlotte. Every time I ride there I just really enjoy it and wonder why I don't ride there that often. That said I rode BYT most as it is fun for social rides and has some areas to play. Both are good choices for what I consider South Charlotte...

That said, its best to just go ride everywhere as time permits... I really wish Steves Trail (RRT) was a lot closer...

Plus one for anne springs. Great little single track trail, fun with the bi-directional options, and even with the trail loss an excellent excursion.

The drop box is locked, they check it daily, and the only way you could get anything out of it is if it were full and you had a coat hanger.  That would probably be fairly obvious if somebody were doing that.
