Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Back in the saddle yesterday after 3ish weeks, getting mobility back and almost pain free after a patellar contusion.  Knee pads for me from now on.

Just started back a few weeks ago after a partial knee replacement followed a month later by a staph infection. Off the bike for 4 months.

Friday last week, took a tumble over at Sherman, riding to fast for my skill in the first berm section.  Lawn darted (after front wheel washed out) onto my left side, no broken bones thankfully, but bruises up and down the whole left side, sore muscles and multiple scrapes.  Knot on my side where the pelvic bone is the size of a softball.   Cry

Learned my lesson, will try and just trying to get ice to the parts where it hurts the most.  Glad I had my helmet on tight as well.  No concussion, but could have if not wearing it.

Took a hard spill at Sherman last night and suffered a concussion.  Neck x-rays were negative thankfully.

Running the green trail on the return path (just past the left-hand u turn back into the woods on the 4th to 5th turn on the down-slope) I was kicking it pretty good when I pushed it a little too hard and washed the front wheel slightly...  a little counter-steer and I thought I had recovered but something went terribly wrong and the rear end came all the way around and slammed me on my left side hard...

It's because that is one of the nicest trails and it gives you a false sense of security due to how flat it is.  As a newer (and older) mtb rider, it just takes one mistake.  As dmtunes said, spending a night in the ER is not fun.  I just need to learn to just not to go over my ability.  I am too old to be an adreneline junkie.

Its all fun until you get hurt.  Takes all the fun out of it and the older you get, the longer it takes to get back in the flow.

Been checking out elbow and knee protection. It's time looks like POC Air get good reviews but are pricey. Cheaper than the ER bill!

My pride was injured a week ago....

I am 25 and was passed - and when I say passed, I mean I hardly saw him until the parking lot - by a guy that was 67...
