SWDP is back at full strength!

SWDP is fully open again and better than ever!

Thanks to everyone who helped with the brand new section! We replaced what we lost to the bulldozers and hooked up the disconnected part of the trail. The new stretch (dubbed "Tamale Loop") is still a bit soft, but it's fast and fun! It's a bit more difficult than most of the trail, and beginners can skip it by choosing the main trail at the fork. Just pay attention to the temporary signage out there.

GO RIDE!

PS... stay tuned for details about Trips For Kids coming to SWDP!

Saturday July 18th (if all goes as planned) we will have a trailer of bikes out there and will be looking for folks to come out and show support.

Went to the trail today and noticed the new section, thanks so much, wish I would have known the work was being done but I just registered today.  I would be happy to help next time there's work to be done here.

Was out yesterday, too.  Trail is riding well.  Glad to have it in the ride-from-home rotation.

Here is where the new section drops down... the trail on the left is the existing return which we recovered:

Looks good Pat! What is the total mileage out there now? (I was clocking 2 miles from car door to car door - but I didn't ride the new loop).

p.s. I hope you had a chance to grab the fresh cut cedar logs and all the dirt we hauled in for that tabletop. You could easily use it to build a new one somewhere...

Thanks Erik. It's basically back to the mileage it was before the bulldozers... about 2.5. As far as saving anything... if you go out there and check out that area, you will see that there was no chance of that.

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

I did four laps yesterday.  It was great to have the added length and new challenge.

Thanks.

Rode two laps today. Nice job Pat! The Tamale Loop is a clever way to recover a lot of the old trail (I'm still upset that we lost the section with the tabletop though - that was the fastest part of the original trail). The new line into the existing trail is sweet too (one of those dips near the end is a bit of a widow maker though, a little too steep to roll fast and a little too long to jump).

Plenty of dirt just the other side of that fence... just sayin' Pat... Do you know how LONG it took us to find enough dirt in the woods for that tabletop....? I mean, it's like they OWE us that dirt, you know? It's not like it'd be STEALING or anything...  Roll Eyes
