Anyone have any recommendations on a wheel builder? My rims are trashed and I am thinking about picking up a pair of carbon rims, I want to make sure that they are built right

Jerry (forum name Enoch) built my wheels and many others here. He has all the right equipment and after he walked me through his process I seen the passion he has for the build.

I am very happy with my wheels. I've put around 600 miles on them now and have yet to make a single adjustment on them. Keep in mind I am a 200lb.+ rider that enjoys getting a little air, and blasting DH.

Same as above. Jerry (Enoch on forums). Highly recommend. Just got my custom built wheels from him and I'm very happy.

+ 21 for Jerry (ridding a set of I9  he built)

Other great options

Dreads Mobile Bike repair (type in google to find his facebook page or 704-369-9307)
ridding another set of I9 he built

or

Mark at The Cycle Path.  He does great work as well!

Can't go wrong with any of them

Jerry is solid.

However.. any shop that calls themselves full service should have a competent wheel builder staffed. The BEST wheelbuilder is going to be someone that can consult with you on your riding style, budget and desire to build the best wheel for YOU. Wheel building is an art that starts with the riders needs! Find a shop or person you jive with and get a convo going them... That being said, ive heard good things coming from Ultimate, Cycle Path, NoGas and Jerry alike, Shamelessly ill have to throw in that we have several custom built wheel sets rolling around the greater charlotte/oregon area.

I recently had a set of wheels built by Jerry.... He was real cool about answering my questions and leading me in a smart direction on the build....I had scored a sick deal on a 28hole p321 rear hub and after I spoke with him decided to ditch that for a 32hole hub.... I'm a big dude at 5'11" about 230 and my finesse has dwindled...The wheel set he built me is the best upgrade I've ever put on a bike (that's saying a lot)... My point is that the best at whatever it is are always going to know what's best for the customer (as long as the customer is honest with them)... It's up to us to trust and use that knowledge....
