Poplar Tent wreck June 17th- any witnesses
06/28/15 at 3:44pm
Print Post
My subaru was hit by a commercial Ford f250 on Poplar Tent road around 4pm on June 17th. This is at the new u-turn section. The driver ran the red light at the intersection and hit the passenger side of my car. Just wondering if anyone happened to see this. My car got spun and airbags deployed. I am hoping to find any witnesses.
On another note this is/ was my first subaru and I am truly amazed at the way it held up after being hit by an F250 at well over 40 mph.
Thanks.

Did the jerk not stop? I can't believe the way people act these days. I parked at Walmart Tuesday and some jerk hit my rear cover on my car. They just drove off and did leave a note or anything.

He stopped. His truck was parked in the side of my car. The passenger jumped out afterwards and apologized. However, once the Concord PD showed up the story changed. The driver is a plumber and has a CDL so I am sure he is doing whatever it takes to keep the CDL clean. I was on my way to pickup my daughter from daycare so I am very lucky that it was just me in the car. I was very stupid and just assumed that the driver would own up to running the light. I guess nearly killing me wasnt enough....people are crazy and just dont care anymore.

CLT has the worst drivers. I'm highly considering leaving this place just because I was almost in 3 wrecks yesterday.

One of the new Garmin GPS has a built in camera that can save info. It automatically saves footage if there is an impact. Great for he says she says incidents. If you don't like to own up to your errors it can hang you too.

That is a new intersection. I'm sure there are traffic cameras there. Is this information they record  available to the public?

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

I was thinking the same thing... I have contacted the city to determine if they have traffic cameras for the area. Also- I picked up the Garmin dash cam. Funny thing is that prior to this I thought having a dash cam was overkill but looking back I wish I had picked one up earlier.

Working in the transportation field I am 99% sure there would be cameras at that intersection.  Especially since it was one of the first diverging diamond interchanges in the area.   May want to check with NCDOT?

I will try NCDOT- thanks! I checked with Concord and they say no cameras. I have to think that someone has it on film. I guess that it will be a matter of will they make it available to me.

Get a neck brace.

Just in case.   Cool

Unfortunately, it's just a game between the insurance companies. And that's the way the game is played.
