Thanks guys. The route Doc00t has suggested looks like what I'm looking for mileage wise. Are the pit bathrooms located at the same place as the Trail Kiosk or are they farther down the fireroad? This is the map I've been using.
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) Hope that hyperlink worked. It's the map from the trail tab of this website.
The pit bathrooms are located about a mile or so in on the gravel road. Here's my preferred ride:
Park in the parking area at the highway. Ride the gravel road about a quarter mile, then a hundred yards or so after passing under the power lines you'll see Woodrun Trail branching off of the road to the right (not marked); take that. This trail (nice single track) will take you to the pit toilets. Pick up Keyauwee at the toilets and ride clockwise. At the end, you'll cross the gravel road and continue onto Supertree. Try to locate Whitetail branching off to the right about a half mile in or so...its only identification is a wooden sign that looks like it has a mountain or something on it. Whitetail is a really nice single track trail. It will end at a double track road (end of Supertree) where you turn right, which takes you back to the pit toilets. From there I take Woodrun Trail back toward the original parking lot.
Note 1: If you want more miles, after getting back to the pit toilets, turn right to follow the gravel road further up the hill. You'll get to an intersection where Keyauwee goes left and Supertree goes right. Take either of them back to the pit toilets.
Note 2: Regarding the location of Whitetail trail, don't sweat it finding it. If you miss it, all that happens is that you continue on Supertree, which eventually takes you back to the pit toilets. I just like Whitetail better; Supertree has a lot of double track.
Note 3: I personally see no reason to park at the pit toilets, since I plan to ride Woodrun trail essentially the whole distance between the parking lot and the pit toilets anyway.
My 2 cents.
