ASC accepted correct rotation?

So what is the accepted correct rotation to ride any of the ASC trails? It seems no matter which direction I ride (CW or CCW) I end up with people pissed as they go past the other direction. Many are nice about it but quite a few seem to get testy over it.

Tonight I was riding the prairie loop CCW and just about got run off the trail twice without any warning from someone who must have been doing Strava runs. No announcement of rider up, no warning. I barely had time to acknowledge he was coming at me before I had to about ditch to get out of his way and didn't even get an acknowledgement as he flew by.

A second rider was much more friendly and at least announced rider up and we worked out passing with little difficulty.

ASC is one of the last bi-directional places left, it will be a sad day when it goes one way. I like to ride it CW for a few rides then CCW for a few. N.M. was an other fun one to ride both ways but those days are over now. Cry However most people you will encounter are friendly, as with ever thing else you will always meet a few self centered, I'm important, legend in their own mind people, with some on bikes others on foot.

One more thing for a long time two endurance races where run at ASC, Tree Shaker and the Grind, one was run CW the other CCW, normally weeks prior to the events racers would head out there and run laps to prepare, what was really great was the 12hr as you ran into night.

Government has no reason to use common sense or be efficient as it pays no price for failure.

I did a few laps tonight CCW and I happen to enjoy CCW much better than CW and hope to continue to ride that direction but there are definitely some narrow spots along the creek on the Mills Pond section where passing opposing directions can be very difficult.

Luckily the two times he blew past I had an area to the right to throw my bike into.

This happened to me Sunday evening on the Sugar Loop. I slowed some, moved over to the right and dude barreled down the center of the trail. Kind of makes you feel like road kill.

So the answer is either direction.

But remember, the rider traveling uphill has the right of way.  If I have the right away, I generally claim the trail as I'm probably struggling with the uphill climb Smiley.

If its not clear who is ascending or I don't have the right away, I do my version of a track stand to side of the trail.

I think I would have noticed - I don't think so.
