The bike truly is in excellent condition. It is 100% serviced and ready to shred!  I take maintenance VERY seriously. Fork stanchions and shock body cleaned after every ride. I am not familiar with Giants Anthem Line...

How does this compare to the geometry of a Trek Fuel? I rode one this weekend at the demo event and liked it.

I'm used to my Scott Scale which is a pretty aggressive position in my opinion. Is the Anthem as aggressive or a more relaxed position? I'm looking for a more relaxed position than the typical "cross country" feel.

Thanks!

It’s interesting that you say that. My previous bike was a Scott Scale 770. The Anthem definitely feels less “XC race” inspired in terms of geometry. There’s a good short write-up on it here:

Additionally, I have removed the travel spacer from the fork which brings the travel in the front up to 120 mm (from the stock 100 mm). This effectively slackens the head tube angle by ~1 degree and increases the wheelbase by ~7 mm. This makes the bike feel more relaxed/slack than it would stock.

I’ve never ridden a Fuel, but based on the geometry I would say the Fuel and THIS Anthem are pretty close, with the Fuel being slightly slacker than the Anthem. Fuel has a 68 deg. head tube angle vs. 68.5 on (this) Anthem. Most of the geo looks pretty similar. They would both be considered XC/Trail bikes, with the Anthem being a little closer to the XC end of the spectrum, and the Fuel being more in the middle.

All in all, this Anthem is an awesome singletrack shredding machine and I absolutely LOVE riding it. I'm just moving on because I want a bike that is capable of handling the occasional trip to Beech mountain without holding me back from attempting some of the more gnarly trails... And unfortunately, i'm not rich enough to justify having two bikes...

If you’re in the charlotte area and would like to meet up some time next week for a ride you could test it out and see if you like it. I would say this weekend but I will be in Brevard this weekend. I typically ride Whitewater Center, Sherman Branch, Col. Francis Beatty, Backyard trail, Lake Norman State Park (weekends), etc. Just let me know.

Also, this bike weighs in at 28.20 lbs (w/ pedals) in case anyone was wondering. I threw it up on the scale last night.
