Howdy,

So, there's at least one Copperhead out at the whitewater center.  Well, technically, he's outside the facility's boundaries unless their recent land grab includes the Thread Trail tract.  I came up on him today on my way back and had already encountered two big box turtles on my ride.  So, it proved to be Wildlife Day.  I only moved the turtles off the trail.  The snake eventually crawled off the trail and further and further away, apparently after having had enough photos taken by me and another rider headed in the opposite direction.  I saw the snake as I approached and was moving too fast to stop.  So, I rode by and then stopped to admire him.  He never acted aggressively and probably was in shock a little thinking, "Whoa!  That was a close one!".
