Trail work at Fisher Farm this coming Sunday, Sept. 20th.  Meet at first barn parking lot at 8:30am.  We will be working to finish the entrance loop optional extension and if we get enough volunteers we can make this happen!

We need your help to finish this section so we can start on the new stuff to the north.

Read:

THE NEW TRAIL WILL NOT START CONSTRUCTION UNTIL THIS PROJECT IS DONE!

Thanks!

Almost forgot...

I worked a bit at Fisher this evening on the new section. There is an off camber climbing left turn that needed some root armoring. I got it started pretty well with a nice two step radiused granite armored turn. It still needs some more work. There are plenty of large rocks there to make a go of it. Needs some crush hauled in and tamped around the rocks to stabilize them and then set with water. That dirt is very very dry. It could use a couple more sentinals on the outer radius to prevent riding through the turn.
Come out and lend a hand on the 20th so we can get this section open and then this winter start across the road.
Other projects at Fisher are repairs to a couple wooden features, the up coming leaf /drain control. There are a couple other spots thst need armor, and of course repairing where folks have created go arounds rather than learning to ride their bike.
See you Sunday at 0830.

I'll be there in the morning. The New section is nice with some tough but doable switchbacks. looking forward to seeing it finished up. I'll bring my bike and ride with ya John. Should be a nice day

They'll actually be a bit easier once we finish the bench work. Smiley

I rode out there and must have completely missed this new extension... seemed like the same Fisher to me. Is it off the main loop after Old Blue? Because I leave the main loop to do Old Blue and then Thunder Road...

It's within the first couple hundred feet after the main entrance, right at the big sweeping left hander. Currently blocked off with deadfall...until noonish tomorrow I assume.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

It's done aside from some final signage.  It's marked as a black diamond and needs some traffic.  It's so much technically challenging as it is physically challenging.  Has a set of switch backs that will actually make you pretty mad!  Thanks to Scott G, Jeff A, Johnski, Casey H, Warren N, and Tom F!  You guys rock!!

Enjoy!  And now we start the new trail.....to be continued...
