I see trail rankings from different magazines or websites often, but haven't paid much attention lately.  Was doing some research when planning a trip to FATS and found what Singletracks calls 'The BEST Mountain Bike Trails in the World'.  

Always good to sit back and realize that we've got so many great trail options within a few hours of Charlotte!  Not to mention the great local trail networks around Charlotte and cities nearby.  Not a bad place to live, after all.

Great destination trails from the rankings:  Tsali, FATS, Dupont, Kerr Scott and Warrior Creek, Bent Creek, , Angler's Ridge and I would include USNWC and there are so many great trails in Pisgah.  See that Sherman is listed along with one of the connected Greensboro loops, too.

If you haven't ridden in Greensboro you should check it out.  They've developed several trails near/around Lake Brandt over the years that can be linked together by greenways.  Makes for a great long ride to be able to park in one spot and hit several shorter loops.  Good stuff.
