BYT pretty wet after all this rain and leaves.

I have a few fellas (Pat & Greg) who are going to lend a hand to blow leaves and drains. The trail will be muddy and draining in places still. We have had so much rain over the last few months and the leaves are so think. I am thinking about leaving it closed for a few extra days after we get done over the weekend. It looks like no more rain this week. If the signs are up or status on home page hasn't changed please let trails dry out. We also have gotten permission to get storage for machines for jumps and other projects. Soon we will need help moving dirt for jumps and other stuff out on the trails. The greenway will be just around the corner at the same time so if some of you have the time to help this winter please come out and lend a hand so the trails can stay open while construction is going on. Those times and dates will be posted. Thanks!

Thanks Pat and Greg for your help today. Now all of MD and PRP are blown off.  Thanks to David  for pitching in at PRP. We still have the back 1/3 of FB across the service road to finish. It is pretty muddy and part of the trail is underwater but you ride on grates through it. It really needs to dry another day or two. The leaves are thick and drains were full. Started this morning around 10 and finished about 4:30. I have some good ideas about how to reroute the trail when greenway goes in. Thanks to those of you who turned around after seeing the trail conditions that we had after blowing off the trails. 3 more miles to go!!

Scott, we got .01 inches of rain last night, so no real harm, but didn't help either. I'm heading out there this morning to have a look around. I might even ride a bit at MD and I'll report back.

Scott it's David from PRP, I should be able to get out to the back 1/3 of FB side Wednesday around 4-430 if no one gets to it before that.  Keep me posted on your work schedule out there too.

Any word on a greenway construction timeline?

Just figured out your screen name Harry...

(When you said "It's David" I realized something was wrong... I just thought you were Italian).

Thanks to David, Pat and Greg for lending a hand in clearing all of BYT MD and PRP. That should be good enough for the rest of the winter. Now on to the greenway reroutes. We will need help to keep the trails open while construction is going on. Not much to reroute but it will take some time. Workdays will be posted as soon as P&R survey the footprint of the greenway. One place that is gone for sure is the trail that goes into the concrete culvert. That trail was not blown off no reason to. The MD side will be under construction at the same time. The valley trail will be gone on that side.

I may be behind in asking this but I just wanted to ask before I head out to BYT today. Has the construction began yet or is the trail still 100%? I met someone out at a trail in the recent weeks that said time was running out so I wanted to verify what was the status.

You are fine but as soon as you see flags hanging from the trees and pin flags on the ground then you might be running out of time. I'm heading out now to go play around on the jumps.

Sounds good. This is my first ride out there. Coming from mooresville I can really only get down that way on weekends due to traffic and what not. I for sure don't want to miss any thing though so what is going to be my best option to hit it all? Park at MD obviously but then what is my best access to the trail on that side then to hit the other side? Also, does the PRP trail connect to BYT or do I need to get back on tyvola to park to get to it?

Scott,

Can you and I touch base about Park Road Park regarding a cyclocross course? There is some interest in doing a race over Christmas holidays and I would like to see if Park Road is an option.

I live in Mooresville off of 115 north of Waterlynn.  I usually go down on Sunday mornings to ride BYT when I do.  Hit me up and we can carpool sometime.  Save on driving two vehicles!  Smiley

Hey Brett... you and I met on the trail last weekend when Scott, Greg and I were clearing leaves.

It just so happens that this coming Thursday (Dec 3) is the monthly club meeting. This is the perfect forum to discuss such an idea. This month the meeting will be held at Kickstand Burgers (1101 Central Ave) at 7:30pm. There is a very mellow paced social ride that starts at 6pm if you can get free earlier.

Hope you have Thursday free and can come by and let everyone know what you guys need for your cyclocross course.

Sorry Pat, I didn't check the message board before last week's meeting. Could we touch base by phone? I can DM you my number.
