Sherman Branch Lake loop a bit messy

The lake loop has a few areas that are awfully messy.  In particular one of the large dips is holding water and the mud is about 8-10 inches deep.  I know because my wheel sunk down far enough that I came to a halt.  With the cold weather and slow drying this time of year it would seem this spot would be a good place to put a bridge or some other type of crossing over this area.  Would there be any interest in that from those in charge of Sherman?  I would certainly be willing to lend a hand in doing something like that.

I have everything in place to fix that area if you want to fix it. I just can't do it myself. I will be glad to point and guide, I can even drive you in to said spot and show you were the replcement bridge is and provide tools.

During the day, or when it is closed, is the best/only time to work @ Sherman.

I work during the day but may have some time off next week if it doesn't get done before then.  If not then I will send you a message about taking care of it.

My plan is to hook up with Enoch Friday afternoon around 1:00 or so to get this done.  I will post here if anything changes with me but it looks like we have a couple of people to help get this done.

This will be my first trail work project, so wait until we are done to see if you should thank us or cuss us  Smiley.  Just kidding.  I know my way around tools so no worries.

If anyone can meet us there around 1:00-1:15 to lend a hand that would be great.  I will be in a gray IS250.

The newly bridged / repaired section is great. Smooth transition and ya stay dry. Great job.

I took a very quick spill at that same spot about 30 days ago.  The inside edge is packed with loose dirt. Planning to clean it off this coming Friday afternoon.

When your wood is wet you have to hit it strait on not at an angle.
