Hi all, Just moved here from central NY a week ago. Staying with some family in Ballantyne area for the time being until I can get a job and a place. So for now I'm off 7 days a week lol. Either way I'm looking to ride some and meet some new folks. Take care.

Welcome to town James!

I'm on PTO tomorrow and plan to ride the Anne Springs Greenway trails in Ft. Mill anywhere b/t 11 & 1.  They're not far from Ballantyne.
I have a Direct TV tech coming to the house b/t 8 & 12.

Let me know & we'll meet up!

Welcome to NC!  I'm from the Binghamton area and graduated from Cortland State.  After 19 years down here, I can easily say that you won't want to move back to the cold, gray, and general dreariness in weather and attitude of upstate NY. Plus, there's way more places to ride around here all year round. Be sure to check out the Local Mountain Bike Rides section and join a ride and meet some people.  You hit the jackpot, as there's an awesome mtb community around here.  Also, grab a shovel when you get a chance and join us in building new trail and maintaining the mileage we already have.  Work sessions are posted in the Down and Dirty section.  It's a great way to build a true appreciation for the trails we have available all around us, and connect with even more of the mtb community in the area. Enjoy as you explore all nc has to offer, and good luck with the job search.

Not sure what your style is, but being from NY as well, I like the long descents of the northeast. If your up for a little drive, Dupont State Park and the Pisgah Ranger district are both about 2 hours away. Definitely the best area to ride in NC. Locally, Rocky River Trail, Whitewater Center, and Uwharrie are good

Welcome to NC James! You can check out all the trails in the area by looking at the "trails" on this web page. Lots of great trails in this area so you won't get bored. Lots of different kinds also (flowy, technical, tight, jumps).

Lived in around Syracuse (Cicero/Clay/Liverpool etc). Been down here 15 years. It's great. Enjoy the weather, looks like you got here just in time.

Welcome James!

We have a trail work day this Sunday at Uwharrie National Forest so that would be a great way to check it out. We will be riding after the working part so you would get to ride the trails out there too. Starts at 9am.
