Trail has been marked and currently being mapped.  We're doing a full walk through the week of the 21st, and should begin clearing shortly after.

Attached is the map layout.  Right now we have a little over 3 miles, there is a double track portion that is part of the proposed Carolina Thread Trail that will give us another 1.5 miles. There will be a steep leaning curve for us but should start trail clearing next week, the goal is to have it open sometime this summer.

The University had a service day where classes were cancelled and students were encouraged to participate in a community project.  We had about 80 people out there starting to clear some of the thicket.  Blue Ridge Trail Works is going to be in in the next couple of weeks to build the first 1/4 mile or so.  Once that is complete were going to start scheduling work days until the first 1.5 miles is complete.  Also in the meantime I am working on chasing down some grant money to see if we can get the rest of the system in a bit quicker.
