I am the town manager for the Town of Wingate and I have been working with Wingate University to help develop a 132 acre piece of property.  We are going to incorporate a MTB trail system but don't quite know where to start.  I am looking for a trail builder/designer to set up a meet with to discuss the possibilities for this site. I thought I would start here and see if you have any recommendations.

one of the best ways to get started is to come to a TTB meeting, and meet a few of the folks.

Wow!

My wife's parents have been prodding me to consider building a home on their land in Wingate.  The lack of any trails has kept me from considering it.  This would be fantastic!

Just wanted to post an update.  The town has contracted with Blue Ridge Trail Works to design what will be phase 1 of 3.  We hope phase 1 to net us about 4-7 miles; total anticipated trail length for all three phases will be in the 12-18 range.   I will update as progress is made.

Sweet, it is really cool that Wingate is investing $ in adding trail!

Not a lot of elevation, but it should be enough to keep it interesting.

The ironic thing is most of the local land managers are like this now. Smiley

I run in Wingate about every other day. I'll be more than happy to help out if you need volunteers. Our end of the county really needs some MB riding. It's a long way to the other places.
Let me know if you need anything.  I get get volunteers or just help out myself.
I'm excited to see good things coming to Wingate!!

That's great to hear.  They started laying out the trail a few weeks ago, and myself and are public works department are going to start clearing trash from the projected trail over the next few weeks. Once we get a little farther were going to organize some work days.  My email is [email protected], if you don't mind just email me your contact info and I'll be in touch once we get a little farther along.
