Hydro Graphics, Good or Bad Idea

This may be crazy but I’m thinking about having my frame dipped but before I get to far into this I have a few questions for the experts.
#1- Hydro Graphics, Good idea / Bad idea and why?
#2- What will it cost me to have a local shop disassemble, reassemble and adjust everything?
#3- I’m I crazy for even thinking about doing this?
BTW My Bike is a Santa Cruz 5010 Aluminum Frame.

I would only do it if you plan on keeping the bike a long time as it would likely hurt your resale ability depending on you choice.

In my experience....Hydro Graphics will be too soft for a MTB Frame.   You would need a follow-up hard coat of some sort.  The dip plus a hard coat and/or clear tape would make the process much more expensive than a powder coat.  If you used clear tape on top of the Hydro Graphics I'm sure it would destroy the Hydro Dip Graphics......I'd consider a seat post...fork....bars perhaps but not a frame.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will just scrap the idea for now.

Actually I had 2 of my daughters bikes hydro dipped. She rode and raced the hell out of her bikes and the costing held up great. You need to make sure the apply multiple coats of a high quality clear coat. If you search my old posts from about 1.5 - 2 years ago you can see some pix.
Carolina hydro grafics outside Spartanburg did mine. He runs his shop out of his shop at his house. $125.
