Thankful

Print Post
It started on Saturday, thankful that the rain-gods had taken some time off to let the trails dry out. Thankful that my wonderful wife said "go ride, you need to." Thankful the dirt was perfectly tacky at Fisher. Thankful as I lay in the dirt, still clipped in, trying to remember how to breathe through the stabbing pain in my rib cage, that I could still feel anything below my neck. Thankful that the crash that just occurred left me with nothing more than a possibly bruised/broken rib or two, that I could get up and ride out.  On the mend now, wife concerned about me "not being a kid anymore", but thankful that I will ride again.

Be thankful for each day.

I've had the "Your Not 20 Anymore" lecture from the wife several times.

Thanks for the thoughts. Helmet is ok, landed on the top of my shoulder and back. Bike is ok, pride is not. I was in the wooden ramp area at Fisher, clipped a tree with my bar going over one of the drops, got launched sideways. I definitely did not stick the landing, the Russian judge only gave me a 1.7! I' m feeling better today.  This section is definitely not for "sissy pants" as the sign so eloquently states.

Be thankful, go ride!

P.S., nothing broken, but the doctor told me, "you know, you're not 20 anymore!" I would've laughed, but it hurt too much.
