Hey Folks,

Im heading into town this weekend and was checking on the chances of local trails being open saturday/sunday.

I wont have time to ride to URE  so I was looking at more centralized shredding... Beatty, Sherman, RRT, etc.

What yall think?

I was just thinking about the same thing.  It looks like the freeze thaw is staying away for the most part, that will hep big time.  I'm thinking there is a chance!!!

Ill bring the CX wagon. If trails are dry I'll shred, if not I'll hit the pavement. Sherman on a CX rig is pretty fun...

Ah, the ole' Creek...

If anything is open it will be that place. That is a good point worth mentioning as far as wet weather riding. Whenever everything is closed Cane Creek is almost always open.

Just friend Union County Parks and Rec. on FB for trail status or call them...
(704) 843-3919

They dont close that place for s*it haha...

RRT looked pretty rough on Tuesday had improved a lot today. I'll look it over tomorrow afternoon if lucky maybe Friday. Depends on those overnight temps. Still going to be pretty soft after these deeper hard freezes and the amount of moisture in the soil.

A few of us are going out Friday morning to start work on a new trail and clean out drains. I hope we will have BYT open by Saturday. It just depends on sun and no more rain. I hope it dries out so we can get the machine back out to work on both jump lines as soon as possible.

I was at the WWC yesterday to release a hawk I rescued back in October. I hiked on the old trail of Joy and then on the old road to the open field between Tower 93 and the Wedge Trail. The trails and road were still snow and sleet covered with standing water and muddy as..... It was the worst trail conditions I've ever seen. I would not think they will be open for some time. This weekends warmer days should help.

Unless it rains it should remain open. It probably better tomorrow or later Sat since looks like there will be a hard freeze Friday night with the amount of moisture in the ground that thaw may be ugly.

SWDP is open now and actually in pretty good shape. Expected muddy spots are there. Please come out tomorrow (Sat) at 9:30 and help with building some low bridges. Fresh Tamales will be provided after.  Cheesy

Bryan, let us know what your MB schedule is this weekend. Would like to ride with you a bit (though can't keep up with you on the trail), and have a small gift I've been holding on to for way too long. Like to see ya - ya old Chub packer!

January 16th was the big trail race at WWC with 1200 runners. I ran the race and the trails got all torn up with the mud. Afterwards I knew that the trails were going to be closed for an extended amount if time. Cry
