Padded bike shorts - Typical Life

I have been wearing the same two pair of padded bike shorts for several years now.  I  have a third that I like less, so I only wear these when the others are in the laundry.  The two go-to pairs are the same and were bought at Performance Bike.  I think these have silicone padding as opposed to foam.  Does anyone know the typical life of these things?  Surely they have a rating or something like "hours in the saddle".

I ask this, because the shorts along with my seat seem to have been making for less comfortable riding for a while now as if there is less cushioning.  If anything, I probably have more all-natural cushion now than I did for years, and the seat hasn't been repositioned by me.  I'm going to look at doing this since my riding position and body movements may have changed.

I avoid putting any of my cycling clothes in the dryer.  It tends to wear out the fabric and liners in the shorts.

As far as mileage goes, I use high quality roadie bibs, then put shorts over them when mountain biking.  The roadie chamois seem to last better and bibs are way more comfortable.
