Most technical section of trail?

Just wondering what others think is the most technical section of any trail system around charlotte.  ( I would  assume BYT overall is the hardest),  but I'm talking about just a section that is hard to clean.

Rode the 'Wild Hare'  at fisher farms yesterday and had to stop/walk/dab  4-5 times in that section;  respect to those that can ride it.

others that are hard for me;  no name climb at RRT,  goat hill at wwc,   the climb at poston after the bridge(Laurel loop I think)

For difficult climbs, I agree no name, Goat Hill and the Poston climb.  I always chicken out on Poston as I'm afraid of dropping off into the creek.

Since you are in Fort Mill, I'll add the climb in Baxter after the water crossing going CCW.  There are a number of tough climbs in Baxter, but this one is very rooty with sharp turns.

I agree that the Wild Hare at FIsher is tough.  I have never cleaned the uphill/switchback/with logroll back there, YET.

BYT overall.  Especially the really rocky section on the other side of the service road.

Outside Trailblazer land
Farlow
Upper Black
rock garden on Pilot
Headwaters loop at Warrior Creek
Beech Mt.

I know not in Charlotte but just throwing it out.  Puts perspective on technical.

Wild Hare at Fisher is tough. You're welcome. Wink. I don't even clean it every time. I'm also a fan of BYT.

Agree with all of the above. As one mentioned, Baxter has a number of difficult climbs, a few short and punchy that are really difficult, the one past the creek crossing and the entire climb back from the river loop. If you ride Baxter CW you have a monster climb that hits 20-25% grade in a few sections. It climbs from the bottom section of Gardinia to Stratfort Run.
RRT has no name and stairway to heaven, both are very worthy of the prize.
WWC, goat is tough, back side of goat/fire road climb is a grind. Also the new East Main has some really nice climbing.
BYT has a few short climbs that are really tight, mix in a few rock gardens... Perfect mix of flow and technical.

Wild Hare at FF, especially when the roots are slick. I can only clean it when it's been really dry for a while.

Oddly enough the only section of trail I ever have issue with is the little tree move on River Bluff.

Also personally I don't think the climbs around here count as technical. Some are steep but don't really take much skill to get up, just some legs. But my definition of technical is probably skewed I think RRT is smooth, flowy and fun.

I've always approached Wild Hare with an over/under of 2.5 dabs of the foot.  If I touch down twice, it forces me get through the rest without bailing.  Lately, I've dropped the line to 1.5.  That damn uphill/switchback/with logroll that Doc00t mentioned is the last of the obstacles out there that I just haven't conquered...yet.

Wild Hare is, hands down, the most "technical" loop I've encountered around here. Though BYT has some of the hardest individual obstacles I've ever seen (some, on the last 3 miles or so, I doubt anyone has ever done (I'm talking about the ones the width of a tire that go up at about 50 degrees and then turn 90, etc.).

RRT can be grueling, like Poston and Goat Hill. But Wild Hare is the only thing I skip in its entirety. I rode it once (not clean) - just not my thing.

Agreed. Grin I know I have both, but it appears they are working against each other.  Honestly, I just need to work on my trials-like balance and technique and commit to practicing that obstacle and ones like it.

The green loop at FJB.  Dang roots, motorcycle tracks and moms with strollers make it tough to get any real rythm.   Wink
