Was riding down the road today to do some T Work and saw man pulling a wagon with a trash barrel in it. I have seen him several times over the past 3/4 weeks picking up trash and have always beeped and gave him a thumbs up. Today was going to be different, I whipped my truck around found me a safe spot to pull off, and met the man and said "Thank You" for cleaning up the roads in the area I live. He said he was retired and had Diabeties. Doc told him to get some excersise and he figured he would get excersise and make the place a little nicer. He had a truck full of trash bags.

World needs more people like this. Just a individual who saw a need and met it.

I think EVERYBODY, no matter how busy, has a part to do in this world.  Get out and make a difference.

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Might want to contact the news - we could use more feel good stories. Time good people got some attention from our media, instead of all the useless, recidivist scumbags.

Thanks for posting that, Jerry! If everyone would stop throwing trash out their cars, he and others would have less cleaning up to do. It's like that when you go out to do trail work also. Inconsiderate riders throwing down their snack wrappers and other trash that they don't want to put back in their jersey pocket to dispose of properly. Where did the pride factor go in peoples lives? You have to take a trash bag anytime you do trail work. You go out and work hard to give people a good place to enjoy nature and the screw it up! People these days, go figure!

Jonesn, I'm up in the hills right now, but I sure wouldn't want to be camping! It's 28 degrees and snowing with wind gusting to 35 mph. That would make for some terrible camping. In case you didn't know it, I moved to WV last Thursday and we have had 3 measureable snows since. I sure hope spring arrives soon! You'll have to come up and visit if summer ever gets here. Maybe we can meet and ride when I come back for a visit?

Sorry I missed your "Send Off" a couple weeks ago! Good luck in WV and it's gonna be chilly here for the next couple night too even though Spring has sprung. I'll keep an eye on the board and try to catch up with you when you come here or the GANG goes there! Get to benching and chopping up there! Don't let retirement get you off the bike either! You def have a skill set for sure!
