North Meck Closing at 4pm Saturday 4.16.16

We are closing the trails at North Meck Park at 4pm today to repair a sinking bridge.  We will have caution tape at the entrance so riders and walkers won't be allowed on the trail.

It's all in the name of safety, thanks for understanding.  Take this time to get to know the North Meck pump track  Cool

I'll bet you will still have people using the trail. I taped it off one time a while back because it was sloppy wet and they rode anyway. Good luck Will!

I just rode out there. Which bridge? Also, the pump track is cool (rode it for the first time since it was rebuilt) but I always lose the flow on those 2 humps on the back side beneath the trees. Does everyone have this problem? It's the only place I had to pedal...

Eric, it's the bridge at the old Mercury. It's been sinking on the approach side for a good while now. I'm glad Will is repairing it, before it falls in.

Nice work on the bridge Will. Liek that pilings were set in at the sills. Should last a while. N meck is dry and fast.
BTW I spoke to a young man (14-15 years old) riding a dirt bike on the pump track, Explained it was not built for otorized vehicles and that Parks and Rec or the Police could cite him and take his motorcycle. He was cool and left. The crowd around did too. Didn't catch any flak.

Keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it  Wink  Some of the guys that ride out there can 20 do plus laps in a row without pedaling.  It'll make your legs burn something proper!  This is on hardtail bikes of course.  It's much harder on a full suspension.

Impressive job on the bridge attitude adjustment.  Rode a few laps after work today and it rolls very nicely.  Many thanks to the Trail Coordinator and to the team that supported this effort.
