Do not back into the parking spot.

Other than that;

The longer part of the trail is marked XC.  You cover almost all of the Enduro/AM trail by following the XC markers.

There are three or four short climbs that come up pretty quick, the first has a root at an unfortunate spot, two more involve some switchback action.  Easily doable if its dry.

Lots of small jumps.  If you do not have a bash guard and can easily get one, that will be a benefit here for one or two of the optional lines.

Near the end is an optional trail that follows and crosses the creek, easy enough if you keep a little momentum.

Enjoy the place.

There also is a jump-line that I do not know enough about to comment.

The trails at Tanglewood are Awesome! I am from Charlotte but work brings me up that way every so often, and when it does I bring my bike. Ride everything they've got. Trails are fast and flowy, some decent climbs, but nothing too demanding. There are plenty of optional TFF's. The other nice thing about these is they almost never close (at least I've never seen them close). The last time I rode them it was actively raining so I called the park information line to check the status first. The lady that answered the phone and laughed at me. Her response was, "it hasn't rained enough to close anything out here." This during an active rain which amounted to about 0.5" and it had already rained about 1" the day before. The trails were still in great shape and left no mud on my bike, only bits of ground up leaves and pine straw.

In summary, these are great all weather trails that are safe for beginners and a ton of fun for more advanced riders. Let us know how it went. IMHO they are definitely worth the drive, especially if you are already in the general area.

I did a race there last year. The address they gave was 4061 Clemmons Rd. I remember it being a little off if I'm remembering correctly but close enough to where you could find it if you drove around a little.

I rode Tanglewood late last year and mapped it to MTBProject.com.  It is very XC oriented with a few TTFs, not much climbing involved and is very similar to Sherman Branch.

It was really flowy reminds me of Sherman branch minus even the few roots there. I did enjoy the farther out trail the most, had some nice obstacles and I was the only one out there. Lots of speed would have been nice to run 2 laps after knowing where everything was to hit jumps and some log rolls I missed. All in all the volunteers there are doing a great job.
