Just want to thank all of you who dedicated their time this Saturday at  Francis Beaty for the take a kid Mt Biking day.  Saw a lot of young riders on the trail which will benefit us all in the long run. Bottom line, you done good!

Many to all those who volunteered their time to make this a very successful event. We had about 80 participants from 5 years old to...well let's say some of us were older. We rode, we laughed, we ate burgers, dogs and ice cream. My favorite memory is of 5 year old Everett on his fully rigid 14" wheels turning two laps on the green trails singing the "everything is awesome " song. He won a jersey and I'll bet slept in it Sat night. That's what it's about. Great job everyone.

Dennis, sounds like a great event! I always like to see young riders on the trails. There wasn't a "Take a kid mountain biking" event at Snowshoe, but I did have a group of 5 young guys from Tennessee and showed them some trails here on the mountain. I joined the IMBA charter here in the county and I'll see about starting an event for next year. I miss all my friend back in Charlotte and the great trails there also. Try to stay cool in all the heat!

I had a great time helping and riding with the kids this weekend.  It is really nice to see our future Tarheel Trailblazers starting at a young age!
